The role: (Residential Position - Ontario) Join an exciting and newly created mining company, where you will be the most senior person in the Safety department (leading a team of 3), responsible for 2 sites.Ensure the companies flagship underground site is fully prepared to enter the production stage, whilst also working on a lesser established project to ensure continuous safety compliance is achieved.Title: Safety ManagerLocation: Ontario (Will require relocation)Salary: $140,000-$170,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Benefits + Relocation AssistanceRoster: 5/2/4/3Company: Mining Development Company (1 operation and 1 project)Reports to: Mine General ManagerTeam size: Leading a small safety team of 3 (will increase next year)Culture: Small but close knit team on site with positive and ethical cultureCore responsibilitiesOversight of Health & Safety activities at both sitesProvide site leadership with ongoing safety performance updatesH&S Strategical thinking and leadershipPromote and lead a zero harm work cultureCoordinate risk management processesHealth & Safety training and assurance to site employeesKey stakeholder and regulatory body engagementIncident investigation and corrective actionsRequirements:7+ years health & safety leadership experience in a mining environmentUnderground mining experience (ideally at a leadership level)Qualification - Degree in related fieldExcellent communication and leadership skillsMining hazard identification Mining
