Your roleReporting to the Manager, Actuarial Services, the Senior Actuarial Analyst is a key contributor in the pricing of our products, evaluating insurance liabilities, and supporting other projects related to data, reinsurance and capital. Opportunities to contribute to reserving, pricing and/or data projects will depend on the interests of the employee.What you bring to the positionUniversity degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics or other related fieldsCompletion of 4+ CAS or SOA actuarial exams3+ years of relevant P&C insurance experienceAdvanced user of Microsoft ExcelExperience with SQL, Guidewire or Akur8 an assetDeep understanding of insurance principles and actuarial pricing/reserving techniquesStrong oral and written communication skills, organization skills and problem-solving skillsAbility to form opinions and make recommendations to management What you will doContribute to reserving and pricing analyses in accordance with Canadian Accepted Actuarial Practice. Primary area of focus will depend on the interests of the employeePrepare Quarter End insurance liability valuationsComplete Financial Statement notes and provide actuarial support in preparation of regulatory returns and other industry surveysProvide support in preparation of provincial regulatory rate changes and other automobile filingsDevelop commercial and specialty insurance pricing solutionsPrepare annual Finance Condition Testing (FCT) and other ad hoc capital management initiatives Provide internal actuarial support for audits, regulatory reviews and peer reviewsProvide actuarial support to reinsurance requestsIndependently respond to routine and ad hoc requests related to actuarial valuation, pricing and dataStay abreast of developments in actuarial and regulatory standards and requirementsProvide support and mentorship to Actuarial AnalystsCollaborate with the VP Operations East, Finance, Underwriting and Claims teams as neededWhat we offerCompetitive compensation packageComprehensive benefitsRRSP program with Company matchTraining and professional development Insurance
