Your roleReporting to the VP Operations, East, the Manager, Actuarial Services oversees the Actuarial Team related to the pricing of our products, evaluating insurance liabilities, and supporting other projects related to data, reinsurance and capital. Opportunities in reserving, pricing and/or data projects will depend on the interests of the employee.What you bring to the positionUniversity degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics or other related fieldsCompletion of 4+ CAS or SOA actuarial exams. CAS exam 5 completion 5+ years of relevant P&C insurance experiencePricing or data experience an assetAdvanced user of Microsoft Excel Experience with SQL, Guidewire or Akur8 an assetDeep understanding of insurance principles and actuarial pricing/reserving techniquesStrong oral and written communication skills, organization skills and problem-solving skillsAbility to form opinions and make recommendations to management What you will doContribute to reserving and pricing analyses in accordance with Canadian Accepted Actuarial Practice. Primary area of focus will depend on the interests of the employeePrepare Quarter End insurance liability valuationsPrepare Financial Statement notes and provide actuarial support in preparation of regulatory returns and other industry surveysResponsible for preparation of provincial regulatory rate changes and other automobile filingsDevelop commercial and specialty insurance pricing solutionsPrepare annual Finance Condition Testing (FCT) and other ad hoc capital management initiatives Provide internal actuarial support for audits, regulatory reviews and peer reviewsProvide actuarial support for Reinsurance requestsManage actuarial solutions to routine and ad hoc requests related to actuarial valuation, pricing and dataStay abreast of developments in actuarial and regulatory standards and requirementsManage and build the Actuarial TeamCollaborate with the VP Operations East, Finance, Underwriting and Claims teams as neededWhat we offerCompetitive compensation packageComprehensive benefitsRRSP program with Company matchTraining and professional development Insurance
