You will analyse market trends, competitor pricing, and consumer behaviour to make data-driven pricing decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of pricing strategies, financial analysis, market -, consumer- and shopper behaviour dynamics Key responsibilities: Job Description / Key Accountabilities 1. Supporting RGM strategy development and optimisation across channels o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies that align with consumer needs, business objectives and market conditions. o Provide pricing opportunities and threats to inform strategic and tactical decision making by analysing pricing data, commissioning and analysing market research, and competitive intelligence. o Continuously monitor and adjust pricing structures to optimise revenue and profit and respond to market changes o Provide guidance and recommendations on pricing for new products or product enhancements o Support development of strategic RGM guardrails for new channels o Lead implementation of RGM strategies and tactics holding respective stakeholders accountable for delivering KPI's o Responsible to lead and coordinate annual pricing waves across all relevant stakeholders 2. A nalysis, data management, tools, reporting and governance o Accountable for ensuring pricing corridors maintenance in systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability of information. o Generate governance and dashboards to track pricing and RGM performance and provide insights to stakeholders, throughout the various business planning cycles. o Analyse the impact of pricing decisions on revenue, profitability, and market share and prepare financial forecasts and models to support pricing strategies and decisions. Support stakeholders with business case development. o Ongoing and ad-hoc analysis across all RGM levers including Portfolio and pricing architecture - PPA, promotion management, mix management, trade terms, etc. to identify opportunities for revenue growth and develop strategies to capitalise on them o Performing analysis from vast internal transaction data and external sourcing including RMS, Websraping , WTP, etc. Consolidate insights into actionable recommendations, reports and presentations o Deploy and lead development of tools and provide ongoing training and support to local teams 3. Deploy promotion management playbook across channels and execute continuous evaluation of promotion effectiveness and ROI to make recommendations to optimise efforts. Close collaboration with planning teams to execute promotion planning according to guardrails and foster close partnership for continuous optimisation of plans. 4. Close collaboration with global RGM and local finance partners . o Influence and provide input of local insights into Global RGM strategy to drive commercial excellence and alignment to consumers' needs for the SA business. Deploy global playbook and strategies at local level with stakeholders. Support global team with input as required. o Coordinate revenue growth plans with commercial business and finance throughout planning and budgeting cycles Key influencers, partnerships & interaction type : • Partnership and close collaboration with SA Commercial Marketing, Analytics, Research, Forecasting, Sales and Finance teams • Partnership with global RGM teams • Support to SA senior leadership teams Position Specification / Job FactorsWork Experience & Education: Degree in Econometrics, Business, Finance or related fields. Minimum of 3-5 years experience in pricing and revenue management roles. Experience in Beauty or a related CPG industry is advantageous. Skills & Competencies: • Proven experience in pricing strategy development, trade promotion and revenue management • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis, advanced excel and related BI tools • Strong critical thinking skill and ability to interpret, make conclusions and recommendations from complex and broad-spectrum internal and external data. • Strong cross functional collaboration and leadership and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with all stakeholders to influence and balance the needs of various stakeholders. • Ability to function at all levels of the organisation - associate, managerial andexecutive leadership stakeholders. • Strong project management skills and ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively. • Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable and persuasive in presenting data and insights to a wide range of audience. • Strong knowledge of consumer, market and shopper behaviour • Knowledge of pricing software and tools a plus • Knowledge and experience with RMS data (Nielsen, IRL) • Knowledge of pricing governance & legal regulations • Excellent knowledge of MS applications Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. • Acumen in Business intelligence tools, search engines, web analytics and knowledge of Tableau. • Fluent written and spoken English Role Impact: • Tactical to strategic recommendations to influence both Strategy and Commercial execution. • Primarily impacting marketing decisions. Secondarily other functions (Sales, Strategy, Omnichannel). Primarily SA • Influencing to ensure recommendations are acted on to grow the bottom line Problem Solving: The role is highly complex by nature and focuses on solving specific RGM problems and providing business opportunities. The role is required to connect and analyse complex data and insights from various internal and external sources and to be comfortable to present data to key stakeholders, to work under pressure and influence cross functional teams. Scope & Team: Relevant Team: South Africa Commercial Marketing. Main responsibilities: Revenue growth management, no direct reports, however strong cross functional leadership require and transfer of RGM capabilities across the organization.
