G Adventures CEOs are responsible for making people's holiday dreams come true! Their backpack is their office, the local hostel is their bed for the night and the commute to work might be a boat down the Amazon or a Safari drive in the Serengeti. Our travellers have diverse ages and interests and many different reasons for embarking on a trip. For most clients the only G Adventures employee that they will have contact with is the CEO.The main responsibility of a G Adventures CEO is to help them to explore their particular areas of interest and to make sure all travellers have a fun and safe time. The CEO determines the level of success of each trip.ResponsibilitiesAct as day-to-day guide, interpreter and manager of the groupDeal directly with your traveller's issues and concernsMaintain the established itinerary as closely as possibleMake and confirm reservations for accommodation, transport and activities as requiredMaintain daily expenditure accounts, retain receipts and keep expenses within trip budgetProvide a report for each trip in the requested format, if requestedKeep trip notes updated in a standardized formatTrain new CEOs as required, passing on all relevant informationProvide assistance to the regional office when requestedAdvise travellers on suitable restaurants, additional transport requirements, souvenirs, etc.Consistently deliver a high level of customer service and traveller satisfactionProvide leadership for our travellers and be responsible for their well-beingContinually increase knowledge about region's culture, religion, current affairs, environmentHave detailed knowledge of hotels, sights, restaurants, transport, souvenirs, prices, etc.Develop information sources and contacts that can be of assistance when requiredMaintain a valid passport and visa. It is the responsibility of the CEO to stay up to dates on any travel restrictions based on their nationalityKeep vaccinations and preventative medication up to dateBe mindful of potential opportunities for G Adventures, such as new destinations, new CEOs, new markets or ways to improve itinerariesLearn about and understand Planeterra and its relationship with G AdventuresRequirementsFGASA Level 1 - Nature Guide or CATHSSETA Level 4 - Culture/Adventure/Hiking Guide,Valid First aid Certificate (Level 1),DEAT registered (Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism) or if non-resident the equivalent to these.Guiding experience of 1 year+Good basic expense accounts knowledgeGood Computer literacy (Internet, E-mail, Word and Excel) and Social MediaExcellent English language skills - both written and spoken - and language based on regionDemonstrated communication, leadership, problem solving and decision making skillsAwareness of and commitment to sustainable tourismThe ability to handle daily stresses and long hours with a high amount of energyPhysical ability to handle treks, luggage, and various active adventuresThe ability to legally work in the region you are applying forExtensive knowledge of the history, geography, and culture of AfricaBasic Mechanical knowledgeWe consider all qualified applicants and will meet the needs of those requiring reasonable accommodations. If you require accommodation, please reach out to the Global Talent team at  talent@gadventures.com .
