As our new Fire and Life Safety Tunnel Engineer, you will be a vital part of our Ground & Underground Engineering Team. Below are some of the things you will do in bringing ideas to life!

• Assist Aurecon with the planning, design and implementation of road tunnels, rail tunnels, surface and sub-surface train stations through Australia/NZ with a networked team of engineers and modellers using your relevant experience and knowledge. Your input will inform a project from early stages (feasibility studies and inputs into a business case) to reference design phase and latter stages including detailed design and construction support.
• Provides discipline specific engineering expertise in feasibility and constructability reviews, including the broader application of the standards. Validates engineering calculations, design specifications and other design submittals.
• Optimises engineering designs from a feasibility, and practicability perspective. Leverages advanced data analytics to make key design decisions. Enhances technical designs for safe, sustainable engineering and compliance. Understands the application of safe design standards in the real world.
• Assist Aurecon’s road and rail transport operator clients minimise disruption of their existing and future assets.
• Assist Aurecon’s road and rail transport operator clients minimise operating costs by taking into consideration the changing use of a tunnel and recent developments in fire engineering and tunnel ventilation.
• Manages a team of engineers and other technical professionals and ensures efficient business operations. Alternatively, may lead through deep technical expertise
• Participates in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination
• Developing deep industry knowledge and expertise in area of specialism; deepening experience in dealing with complex technical issues. Understands client’s business outcomes when problem solving.
