We are expanding our organization and looking for passionate individuals with a technical mindset to drive change in our business, and who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative, and diverse global teams. This position is for an experienced Instrument Engineer in support of our business lines in Product Solutions or Upstream facilities globally. You will be part of our engineering team providing technical support and insights to the site with a focus on fleet management, asset improvement, project support and technology selection. This position will be located in Menara ExxonMobil in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

What you will do

  • Support global fleet reviews and use analytics to provide actionable insights
  • Support all phases of the capital project, e.g. HAZOP reviews, SIL assessment , detail engineering, equipment strategy development
  • Manage long term equipment improvement initiatives for global instruments fleet.
  • Develop engineering solutions to address and rectify issues across ExxonMobil operating units.
  • Provide engineering support through cross functional or discipline related activities
  • Provide technical training related to Instrumentation as required.
  • Utilizing all relevant Company processes, systems, standards to perform work.

About you

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other related disciplines
  • Between 5 to 15 years of relevant engineering experience in the Upstream, Downstream or EPC industries
  • Familiarity with Industry Instrumentation standards (ISA, API, IEC, etc.)
  • Experienced in Field Instrumentation - Flow, Pressure, Level, and Temperature & Control valve sizing 
  • Safety System Design Expertise (including SIL calculation skills, IEC 61511 knowledge)
  • Specialized support for PLC/TMR based systems, including Turbo Machinery Controls and Equipment Health Monitoring Systems for Rotating Equipment 
  • Various plant startups/Turnaround Support , Project Construction and Commissioning.
  • Willingness / interest to become a long term technical specialist. 
  • Has a safety mindset 
  • Must be self-motivated and effective as a team member interested in providing customer focused support to projects and sites
  • Able to mentor team members and demonstrate leadership 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
