Dare Foods Limited, a leading Canadian manufacturer and distributor of quality biscuits, crackers, fine breads, confectionery products is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual with a strong passion for food to join our Cambridge Research and Development team.Product Development SpecialistAs a member of the Research and Development team, this individual will be able to lead product development projects from concept to launch with minimal supervision; this role will require a focus on continuous improvement, supply chain support, cost savings and forward-looking innovation initiatives. This role reports to the senior manager of R&D and the position is located in the new Cambridge facility.Key ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the procurement, operations, Innovation and Brand teams to execute our continuous improvement, renovation and innovation plan with excellence:Provide ongoing product support for supply chain stability initiatives.Lead continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities and categories.Progress exploratory new product initiatives with an understanding of capabilities and limitations in bakery and confection products.QualificationsThe ideal candidate has a degree in food science/engineering.10+ years of R&D experience in food manufacturing.Bakery and/or confection Research and Development would be considered an asset along with championing raw material continuous improvement efforts and cost savings.Ability to multi-task numerous projects and manage changing priorities.Independent worker, able to work autonomously but comfortable working in a collaborative, team environment.Solid understanding of food safety and manufacturing practices.Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Creative problem solver.Meets milestones on-time and on-budget.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) along with using Genesis nutritional software; SAP experience a plus.Passion for food, efficient manufacturing practices, and product development.This position will require periodic and project dependent travel (25%) to other Dare manufacturing or co-manufacturing sites within Canada and the US.If you are interested in being considered for this position, please apply by April 8, 2024.We offer competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Thank you for your interest in Dare Foods Ltd. and the opportunity to review your resume, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.No follow up inquiries or agencies at this time please.Guided by our Purpose, Mission and Values Dare Foods Limited is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible work environment, where all employees feel valued, respected, supported and proud to work here.
