This is a great opportunity for candidates with the right blend of experience, aptitude, and interest. THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting directly to the Director, Regulatory Practice, the Senior Policy Analyst assists DGCM's Risk Department in the development and maintenance of DGCM's regulatory framework. The Senior Policy Analyst will conduct research and analysis into the regulatory environment for deposit-taking institutions and develop standards, guidelines, and rules to ensure regulated entities operate according to Standards of Sound Business Practice. REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION Superior written communication skills, including experience writing a variety of documents and reports for various audiencesStrong analytical skills with experience gathering and synthesizing information from diverse data sourcesExperience in interpreting and/or applying legislation, regulations, and/or policyStrong verbal communication and presentation skillsSelf-motivated with excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsPost-secondary degree and/or professional designation/certificate, preferably in accounting, law, business, finance, or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and extensive experience may also be considered.3-5 years minimum experience in researching, developing and evaluating complex policy and programs, ideally in a public sector settingThe following attributes would be considered assets:Experience or knowledge of credit union and/or financial institution regulation practicesFamiliarity with Basel Core Principles for Effective Banking SupervisionFamiliarity with OSFI GuidelinesFluency in French (not required) ABOUT DEPOSIT GUARANTEE CORPORATION OF MANITOBA The Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba (DGCM) is the guarantor of deposits and the primary regulator for Manitoba credit unions and the caisse (cu/caisse), as well as Credit Union Central of Manitoba (CUCM).
