Getting in and out of Sandy Lake is very convenient, with daily flights chartered by Wasaya Airways and Perimeter Aviations, from multiple cities and towns in Winnipeg and Ontario.For more information about our vibrant community please visit our website by clicking here.About the OpportunitiesCurrently, the Sandy Lake Board of Education has an exciting opportunity for a Elementary School Principal and Vice Principal to join our school in Sandy Lake, Ontario for the 2024/2025 school year.The successful candidates must relocate to Sandy Lake for the duration of the term, fully immersing in the community to better serve and understand our students' needs.With the support of the Director of Education, the faculty, and support staff, both positions will provide leadership and direction within the school, with the purpose of meeting the needs of individual students.Working collaboratively, the scope of responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Overseeing planning in areas such as student codes of conduct, budget, personnel, policies, administration procedures, and safetyEnsuring the programs taught are relevant to students in terms of culture, ability, and interestsEnsuring the needs and development of all students are met through regular assessment of their attendance and classroom performanceCoaching the faculty in creating long term goals and student development programsProviding innovative approach to the faculty's repertoire of instructional strategies through professional growth activitiesOverseeing faculty and staff resourcing through recruitment, training, onboarding, and managing schedulesDeveloping and implementing the school's policy and procedural efficiencies, with input from the faculty and community membersDeveloping and implementing of school improvement, student literacy, and curriculum plansDeveloping and implementing programs for all students with special needsAbout YouTo qualify, we require experience as a School Principal or Vice Principal in a private or publicly-funded school, preferably in Ontario.Candidates with no School Principal / Vice Principal experience but has extensive years of teaching experience, may also be considered.As our ideal candidate, you will have outstanding leadership experience and background in culturally responsive teaching practices.
