The Technical Business Analyst role, reports to the Engineering Scrum Manager, and works across a broad range of solutions and technologies that support client solutions and power their own digital transformation journeys. This pivotal role bridges the gap between the business stakeholders and our engineering scrum team in the development of mobile and web applications, as well as the enhancement of product features. The Technical Business Analysts in this organisation work closely with the scrum master, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications, captured in articulate user stories to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget! They provide support in facilitating workshops and walking through user stories to ensure developers and testers are clear about what they are building and testing. What we are looking for:

  • 6+ years proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst with a strong focus on software development projects using Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Extensive project delivery experience - including managing dependencies, expectations and building trust with all stakeholders to deliver on commitments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong technical and collaboration skills - because problem solving requires working closely with technical professionals and non-technical client end users.
  • Dynamic and driven professional - who is confident and persistent to navigate uncertainty and is tenacious in following up to get the required information to firm up requirements and solution designs
  • Sound analytical skills to be able to elicit requirements, define solutions and capture tight user stories
  • Maturity in decision making, prioritization and management of backlog and competing priorities
Responsibilities:
  • Requirements ownership . Elicit, analyze, and validate requirements for new software applications and product features, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Documentation . Create and maintain detailed documentation, including user stories, use cases, process flows, data models, and technical specifications.
  • Product ownership . You work with internal cross functional and external teams to ultimately deliver features on products that you own.
  • Data driven . Draw on your extensive technical experience to support teams in problem resolution, root cause analysis, and decision-making.
  • Outcome driven . You support your teams by eliminating blockers and collaborating with the different stakeholders to ensure quality delivery. Ensure that developed solutions meet business needs and are tested and rolled out in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ownership & accountability . Pro-active in identifying issues, reacting to incidents, and following through to completion with the relevant teams.
Skills and Experience:
  • Backlog management including user story articulation, including collaboratively defining and prioritize user stories, epics, and backlog items.
  • Experience breaking down features into actionable user stories and ensuring their alignment with business goals.
  • Proficiency in Agile planning practices, including release planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement.
  • Experience compiling functional, technical and product documentation and presentations outlining key features and processes.
  • Solid understanding of QA processes, including acceptance criteria for test planning & execution.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, problem solving and follow up skills.
  • Excellent technical abilities.
Essential soft skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Experience hosting requirements and envisioning workshops to elicit requirements and solution options
  • Excellent organizing and prioritization skills to be efficient in capturing requirements and designing features
  • Multi-tasking and identifying areas where attention is required to close gaps and add-value; be productive on multiple scrum teams
  • Comfortable engaging with business stakeholders, technical teams and operations teams to clarity and analyse requirements, design, and validate functionality
  • Experience collaborating with technical resources who are working hybrid/remotely, using MS Teams for daily stand-ups etc.
Experience with the following is an advantage:
  • Xamarin or Native Mobile App design
  • CX Design or UI/UX design
  • Greenfield development of a mobile application product, including use of feature flags and usage monitoring
  • Agile software development projects, following Kanban or Scrum processes.
  • Using Azure DevOps for capturing user stories, technical tasks and curating backlog for the Scrum teams.
  • Any technical hands-on experience in .NET, Web, Mobile App (Xamarin) & API development and SQL Server
