Job DescriptionThe Social Media Manager is responsible for the development of Old Mutual's online expression,organic presence, and overall growth and maintenance of a favourable brand on social media channels.This role will drive social media engagement and grow our online community by managing theconsumer's view and experience of the Old Mutual brand. The role will contribute to thought leadership,stimulate innovative thinking and distil clear social media (web & mobile) guidelines, marketingstrategies and plans.The incumbent will work closely with Brand teams, Human Capital, Digital andPerformance Marketing Managers, Campaign Managers, Community Managers, Segments and Advisorsto deliver on objectives. As the CoE, you will be expected to provide best practice, and thoughtleadership ensuring the delivery of best-in-class Social Media strategies, Content Production, AssetManagement, Organic Social Campaign management, Live Event coverage, and Reporting. This positionis best suited to someone who is a knowledgable Social Media practitioner, who also has experienceworking with creative teams and managing cross-functional projects with tight delivery deadlines. Theymust be able to plan, prioritize and co-ordinate activities across the enterprise, as well as communicateeffectively.Responsibilities:• Own the creation, socialisation and management of the Group's Social Media style guide, policyand best practice guidelines to protect the brand's security, reputation, privacy and legalinterests on social media channels. The style guide will inform the way Old Mutual approachesdifferent social media content to influence how users perceive our brand.• Contribute to the development of an integrated social media marketing strategy for Old Mutualthat answers to the overall business strategy, brand strategy and segment strategyrequirements.• Design and deliver a co-ordinated process where all aspects of the agreed social mediamarketing strategy are implemented to ensure an integrated brand experience.• Collaborate with marketing colleagues to amplify traditional marketing campaigns through socialmedia; monitor engagement and interactions and stimulate conversations that interest theaudience and help deliver the marketing strategy ensuring that social media and traditionalmarketing strategy and activity is integrated and leverages one another.• Work collaboratively across Old Mutual to recommend social media marketing strategies in orderto drive traffic, increase customer acquisition, engagement, retention and revenue.• Collaborate with marketing teams enterprise-wide to plan effective and engaging always-on(AO) content for social media channels. Manage the scheduling of content / event production inorder to avoid conflicts and to ensure optimal use of team resources.• Identify best-in-class briefing, production and scheduling processes, and entrench these withincross-functional teams.• Work with relevant Lines of Business/segments to build social media communities off theplatforms they provide and engage in interactive conversations with customers & stakeholders.• Facilitate delivery by helping subject matter experts within the team to properly interpret briefsand distil objectives.• Conduct competitor research and monitoring, including researching the industry, platform andtechnology developments and identifying opportunities to innovate.• Monitor, identify and report on topical issues and themes currently being discussed on socialmedia relevant to the market and Old Mutual brand.• Work with the Analytics team as and when required to define and refine social media KPIs andvalue, including impact on brand affinity and sales conversion from social media interactions.• Implement and adhere to governances and policies across Old Mutual to ensure that all socialmedia marketing activities are compliant to agreed protocols, standards and rules.Requirements:• Business or Marketing Degree and Social Media Marketing Diploma or the equivalent.• Minimum of 5 years demonstrated, relevant experience working in a social media marketingenvironment and complex organization (preferably in the financial services industry however notmandatory).• Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team within an interactive process.• Ability to build relationships and partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and managestakeholders at different levels.• Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple dependencies (3-5) going on all at once.• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving workenvironment.• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate complex messages in simple language forbetter buy-in and tell a compelling story.• Excellent interpersonal skills.SkillsEducationAdvanced Diploma In Marketing: Marketing And Business Management Let's Write Africa's Story Together!
