The idealcandidate will have a background in quality control/inspection. Experienece in boilermaking and welding is essential. A qualification in boilermaking and/or welding will be beneficial.The Quality Inspector will ensure that all Quality Control Inspections on heavy industrial equipment and processes supplied by the company meets the required standards and client requirements and specifications. Duties & Responsibilities Job Title: Quality InspectorLocation: Clayville Industrial, Olifantsfontein, South AfricaKey ResponsibilitiesOversee strict adherence to Quality Control Plans during manufacturing phases.Ensure all interventions on Quality Control Plans are adhered to.Verify that all drawings issued for manufacturing are approved and to the latest revision.Verify correct welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR) and welder qualification records (WQR) are implemented during manufacturing to the specific equipment in progress.Ensure all material is properly marked to provide traceability.Ensure all welding consumable certificates are on record.Ensure daily welding checklist inspections to ISO 3834 standards are completed and recorded.Ensure welding consumable issue records and traceability are maintained and recorded.Ensure all intervention points on QCP's are signed off progressively and maintained during all stages of manufacturing.Conduct continuous inspections on equipment during the manufacturing phases.Ensure weld mapping is kept and recorded during manufacturing and traceability are archived on the server.Ensure welding inspections comply to drawings prior to non-destructive testing.Ensure corrosion protection documentation is compiled and on record.Responsible for final inspection on completed equipment.Responsible for the compilation of punch lists on deficiencies observed on completion of equipment prior to final inspection.Support the Workshop Manager in quality related aspects during the manufacturing phases of equipment.Adheres to all Universal Fans quality standards and ISO 3834 requirements.Ensure compliance with customer requirements in respect of Quality Control.Report to the Manager Quality regarding all quality related matters.Essential Competencies3yrs + experience in quality control (Inspection, information reporting, etc.)Strong team player.Quality orientated and attention to detailExperienced in report writingExperienced in planning, organising, and time management to meet targets and deadlines.Ability to resolve deficiencies and problems.Strong communication skills.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to Gather, monitor and analyse quality data informationAbility to read drawings.Ability to use measuring devices and instruments.Common sense and a logical thinker.Good sound judgement.Positive and honest attitude.Strong character.
