Description

Job Description: Staff Field Quality Engineer will be responsible to support automotive customers in Japan on timely quality problem resolution to ensure customer satisfaction. This person will act as a technical interface between factory and the customers in resolving customers’ production and field quality problems, thereby promoting PI’s quality value.

·Support Automotive customers with PPAP documents, questionnaires, and factory audits as needed for customer’s qualification of integrated circuit products.

·Work with failure analysis team at Power Integrations headquarters on customer problem resolution.

·Assist PI Sales team in Japan on customer quality matters.

·Visit customers as necessary to resolve customer satisfaction issues arising from product quality issues.

·Perform initial system level evaluation of customer applications for failure investigation.

·Prepare reports in English and Japanese and communicate to customer. Facilitate and manage problem resolution with support from Engineering teams in company headquarters.

·Obtain failure analysis data and results from his/her counterparts in company headquarters failure analysis engineering groups and prepare final reports, with corrective actions if applicable, in English and Japanese.

·Assist customers on application level corrective actions and countermeasures, if applicable, to prevent or improve field failures.

 

Experience and Skill Requirements:

·Achieved a minimum score of TOEIC=600 or TOEFL=237 in English.

·Direct experience in automotive customer interface on resolution of integrated circuit quality problems.

·Manage customer quality issues in a manner that helps improve customer’s perception of company’s quality.

·7 years of engineering problem solving experience with Switch-mode Power Supply, and analog, and/or mixed signal integrated circuit devices.

·Failure analysis of power conversion ICs, both digital and analog, and/or mixed signal IC devices.

·Characterization and troubleshooting of switch mode power supplies (SMPS).

Education:

·B.S. degree in electrical engineering, Candidates with MSEE will be given preference.
