Job Title: See Change Volunteer Coordinator Reporting to: See Change Programme Team Leader Contract: Full time post (35hrs per week), permanent Salary: €30,346 per annum Location: Maynooth with flexibility for remote working. Some travel within Ireland will be required during course of work. About Shine Shine’s vision is a more compassionate Ireland where those affected by mental illness and stigma are supported and included in all aspects of society. We specialise in supporting and educating individuals, family members and communities impacted by mental illness and stigma. About See Change See Change is a programme of Shine that is dedicated to ending mental health stigma. Our work is informed by people with lived experiences of mental illness, who are best placed to give insight into mental health stigma. Purpose of Role The ideal candidate for this role will be an energetic and creative individual who will develop, implement and co-ordinate the See Change Volunteer Programme. We are looking for someone who has excellent presentation and networking skills who can build strong working relationships with our volunteers and other stakeholders. Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers.
  • Conduct comprehensive orientation sessions for new volunteers and provide ongoing training and support to volunteers.
  • Establish effective communication channels with volunteers acting as their first point of contact for queries.
  • Keep volunteers informed about organisational updates, events, and opportunities.
  • Acknowledge volunteers’ contributions and celebrate milestones.
  • Support the development of engaging, high-quality content for social media and campaigns.
  • Represent the organisation externally and deliver presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities for volunteer involvement. Conduct periodic reviews and gather volunteer feedback for continuous development.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records and generate reports on engagement and impact using a Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve organisational goals and foster a culture of success and teamwork.
  • Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned by the line manager that is consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility.
Requirements Skills & personal characteristics
  • Excellent presentation and organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Excellent IT and social media skills.
  • Strong business acumen capable of identifying strategic partnership
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Experienced and proficient in forging and developing relationships with volunteers and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment but also capable of taking the initiative and driving project to completion.
  • Commitment to Shine’s mission and values.
Qualifications Relevant Third level qualification – Community and Youth Work, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a humanities related field. In addition to formal qualifications, practical experience and a good understanding of the nonprofit landscape, local communities, and diverse cultural nuances are vital for the volunteer coordinator role. Experience Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role In addition to formal qualifications, practical experience and a good understanding of the Irish nonprofit landscape, community engagement and participation, diversity and inclusion are desirable.
