MAIN OBJECTIVES:

  1. To develop and oversee Training Programmes (Aviation Security, Air Traffic Control, Ground Handling, Commercial and Management)
  2. To align development of training programmes with Organization’s strategic goals
  3. To focus on quality of training, customer satisfaction, and course delivery mechanisms.

MAIN DUTIES:

  1. Management of Training programs
    • Manage the overall conduct and development of GAA’s Aviation Security, Air Traffic Control, Commercial, Ground Training & Management Programs that make the best use of the Organizations resources.
    • Assist the Business Development Department in preparation of proposals to ensure Products offered to prospective clients are aligned with GAA’s capabilities.
    • Review and select from training courses developed by Civil Aviation Authorities like ICAO, UKCAAI, IATA, AACO etc. as per the Academy’s requirements.
    • Ensure course content, materials & equipment used for training programs are according to guidelines, specifications, legislation or procedure established by BCAA, ICAO, IATA and other Legislative bodies in the Aviation Industry
    • Liaise with QA to prepare documentation required to obtain approvals from Ministry of Labour, BCAA, ICAO, IATA or any other Government and Regulatory Body to conduct trainings at GAA.
    • Ensure instructors hired to provide trainings are certified.
    • Select training solutions, for e.g. Web based seminars, simulations, printed manuals, training videos, etc. in liaison with the respective internal departments.
    • Ensure that training methods, content, software, systems, and equipment are appropriate and up to date.
    • Conduct visits to aviation institutes and universities when required to review existing training materials produced to determine appropriateness and relevance.
    • Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary to meet approving bodies and client requirements.
    • Liaise with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure GAA training solutions comply with Academy’s standards.
    • Ensure training of high quality is readily available and delivered whenever required by customers.
  2. Effective Operations
    • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report accordingly to higher management.
    • Ensure KPIs are timely and effectively met by performing periodic reviews of the department and employees.
    • Responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of all the Aviation Security, Ground services, Air Traffic Control and other commercial training programs.
    • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.
    • Possess strong knowledge of training courses and training certifications in the Aviation Industry.
    • Coordinate the maintenance of information technology and other training equipment.
    • Oversee course enrolment and maintain records of the same.
    • Ensure certificates provided to candidates are as per standards of the Training Bodies.
  3. Continuous Improvement
    • Determine training needs and requirements by keeping current on the activities and needs of that industry by attending regular meetings, conferences, and seminars.
    • Be prepared at all times in terms of developing training courses and obtaining approvals from various authorities.
    • Maintain customer satisfaction by mapping their needs and addressing their requirements
  4. Business Development
    • Identify opportunities in Aviation Security, Air Traffic Control, Commercial, Management & Ground Services training and asses if they can be tapped in terms of feasibility.
    • Develop appropriate networking relationships that will enhance the job role and the business opportunities available for GAA.
  5. Budgeting
    • Propose budget for the department including purchasing of required training material, equipment and supplies.
    • Prepare monthly reports of the departments performance.
  6. Managerial Duties
  • Ensure all department policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff members.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring to direct subordinates to develop them in their positions.
  • Delegate roles and responsibilities to all the employees in the division.
  • Conduct performance appraisal activities for all department employees.
  • Identify improvement areas for increasing department efficiencies and productivity
  • Conduct interviews for junior department positions and provide feedback to CEO
