Your new company Our client is a leading utilities firm in GTA, are looking to hire IT Business Analyst for a 1-year contract opportunity. Your new role Document Business Requirements & Create Process Maps:Gather and document detail business/technical requirements using structured techniques and methodologiesFacilitate review sessions with functional owners and end-user representativesWork with IT and other business units to validate the business requirements as well as current state processesCreate and present functional and/or technical designs including data analysis to business and/or technical teams, and gather feedback to influence solution design and approachWork with technical and non-technical teams to document current and future states of business processes, analyze gaps, identify risks and opportunitiesPrepare process maps using MS Visio and MS PowerPoint Project ManagementProactively update the Project Lead and Project Manager on the status of tasks and timelinesAccountable for the timely delivery of projects as per established roadmaps by working closely with the business teamsParticipate in end-to-end implementation planning including, issue management, communication and change management Presentation Slides & TrainingPrepare business presentations and reports in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word Prepare training documentation Test - User Acceptance TestingCreate and execute functional test cases Manage and coordinate UAT testing with end users, including obtaining user acceptance signoff Continuous ImprovementsResearch and identify industry trends (relative to scope of responsibility), leveraging ideas to improve or better align IT systems and servicesWhat you'll need to succeed Education Required: College Diploma or Bachelor Degree (minimum) *CBAP certification is an assetMinimum 3+ years of Business Analysis experience *Minimum 2 years of experience preparing as-is process documentation, to-be process documentation, and performing detailed gap analysis*Applicant should be self-motivated and enthusiastic about exploring new solutions Solid understanding of business process modeling techniques, requirements elicitation methods, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologiesMust be result oriented, and be able to deliver quality results in a timely mannerPrevious experience with gathering, validating and documenting detailed business requirements and design elementsAbility to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner tailored to the appropriate audience, including both verbal and written communicationsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Must have experience preparing end-user documentation and conducting end-user trainingExperience in utilities industry (nice to have)What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to esther.samson-andrews@hays.com.
