NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. You'll walk into a space each day where you're valued beyond your talent, and given the tools, rewards, and opportunities to enhance your well-being and overall quality of life.As a Factory Automation Engineer you will be learning a systematic Equipment Managing skill with basics of equipment maintenance strategy and a broad understanding of the entire battery manufacturing process flow.This person will be responsible for:Installation schedule management, maintenance, and performance enhancement of Logistic Automation Equipment(ex, AS/RS, Stocker crane, Conveyor system, AGV, Overhead Shuttle, etc)Applies engineering techniques to install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crewResearches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.Provide technical assistance in installation and maintenance of company equipment. Perform equipment upgrades as per customer requirements.Communicate with vendors to solve complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide supportAct as primary contact for equipment performance related questions and concerns.Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot the machines on the production floor to improve equipment performance.Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train technician to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floorMaintain communication between department co-workers and manage production flow from one process to the nextPrepare and participate daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams.Additional duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering or a related fieldMS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skillsAbility to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targetsComputational Skill, Troubleshooting, Problem-solving, Statistical knowledgeA team player who can multitask and thrive in a very dynamic and fast-paced environmentLegally authorized to work in CanadaPreferred Qualifications:Siemens PLC experience preferredAdvanced Skill of computational draft program (Ex. Auto CAD, Solid works)3+ years Previous experience in Logistics Automation (Stocker, Lifter, Conveyor, Robot, AGV etc) or battery manufacturing industriesElectrical/mechanical-related certificate or domain knowledge.
