Treasury SpecialistTreasury at BlueShore Financial involves managing a wide array of financial instruments and transactions, including foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives, cash flow management, and liquidity management. The complexity and sophistication of these services make it intellectually stimulating for any finance professional seeking something beyond the general ledger. The Treasury Specialist is an entry point to our Treasury team and is responsible for preparing analyses for short-term cash management and cash positioning, including maintaining the statutory investment pool and utilizing borrowings to manage daily liquidity requirements, and cash forecasting. The Treasury Specialist is also responsible for managing foreign exchange positions arising from daily branch activity, transaction reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory liquidity requirements and company policies. This position is highly time-sensitive and hands-on, providing an excellent development opportunity to learn the ins and outs of how Treasury operates in a financial institution.BlueShore Financial is a mid-sized Credit Union in British Columbia, with $7 billion in assets under administration and 390 employees. With over 80 years in the financial services industry, our innovative strategy is rooted in expert advice and expertise, delivered by an exceptional team.This position will provide a flexible hybrid schedule (not fully remote), with approximately one to three days a week in our corporate office in North Vancouver.Key responsibilities of this role are:Liquidity, FX and ratesResponsible for preparing day-to day treasury operations analyses, including cash positioning, investing and borrowing, managing rate posting, foreign exchange and branch supportPreparation of information for and generating forecasts as they relate to liquidity risksMaintains and implements deposit and FX pricing grids and communicates special rates to internal departments (retail, business group, commercial, etc.)Responsible for securitization processes, including loan pool creation, and periodic reporting with respect to secured borrowing facilitiesAccounting & ReportingAccounting for transactional activity, including monthly reconciliationsPreparing extracts and analyses for monthly asset and liability management forecastingTransaction administration for wholesale depositor counterpartiesDay to day trade and department administration, as requiredOther duties as required by the Assistant Treasurer or VP TreasurerQualifications and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Finance or other related subject3 years' experience in finance, treasury or accountingWorking towards CPA/CFA or Treasury designation an assetSolid knowledge of ExcelProven experience and ability to work calmly under time constraintsPay TransparencyPay transparency is an important characteristic of our recruitment process and overall BlueShore culture which supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.The target range of this role is $64,800 - $79,200/year, plus a variable performance bonus.
