Learn more at Be part of the work that's changing lives.The Clinician will provide high quality case management, clinical treatment, advocacy, individual and group therapy to clients for issues related to Operational Stress Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, with co-occurring mental health and addiction issues. The incumbent is a member of an interdisciplinary team and is responsible for active participation in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and resident centered care planning. Case coordination and communication across an inter-professional team is an integral component of the role. Additionally counsellor is responsible for communicating with referral agencies, offering support, and guidance to clients and their families.Duties and Responsibilities:Provision of individual treatment, education and ongoing assessment of progress to patients using evidence-based modalities including: cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), interpersonal therapy, and trauma-informed careFacilitation of abstinence-based, relapse prevention individual and group based education and contentIdentification of treatment goals with patients, coordinating across broader clinical teams when appropriate.Delivery of high quality psychoeducational and process groups using evidence-based modalities.Case coordination and communication across an inter-professional team both within the company and with external providers.Collaboration with other stakeholders in the development, implementation and follow-up of the patient's aftercare plan including referrals to abstinence-based recovery programs (e.g. AA, CA, NA, SMART, etc). Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries in timely manner.Completion of detailed documentation and charting appropriately and in a timely manner in accordance with relevant company standards.Liaise with patient's family, referral sources, community providers, EAP representatives, case managers and other members of the circle of care on a regular and timely basis.Engage in personal and professional development, maintain appropriate professional associations, and provide current documentation to the Human Resources Department.Other duties as assigned, including providing coverage in other programs as required.Qualifications:Completion of a Master's degree program in Counselling, Social Work, PsychotherapyRegistration in good standing as required by professional body, e.g. CCPA, BCACC, CCAC, NSCCT, Nova Scotia College of Social Workers.Experience is an asset however new graduates are encouraged to apply.
