We're seeking a Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our team at the Port of Auckland, ensuring the utmost safety and wellness of our frontline workers and operations. Reporting to the Senior Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner the key responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Approximately 80% of your time will involve monitoring workplace conditions and frontline workers' health directly within the operational environment.
- Engage in report writing and attend meetings during office-based hours to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Minimise injury or illness potential by promoting proactive practices through leading indicators.
- Engage with leaderships team for effective implementation of safety measures.
- Utilise your technical understanding to delve into the details of safety procedures, fitting around plant and machinery.
- 3-5 years in Health & Safety, preferably in a high-risk industry such as manufacturing, construction, ports, or airports.
- Sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in risk identification, H&S investigation, contractor management, and prioritisation.
- Familiarity with JSA / SWMS / PTW / Risk Management is essential.
- Ability to identify opportunities for enhancing safety through worker engagement and participation.
- Fit for field work and comfortable working around plant and machinery.
- Relevant Tertiary qualification at level 6 or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of ACC/Rehabilitation processes will be advantageous.
