Mō te tūnga | About the role Reporting to the Group Manager Policy and Regulation, you will lead the Standards and Technical team in the creation of standards and other technical information to influence behavioural and technological change in energy use throughout New Zealand. This role works alongside relevant organisations both in New Zealand and Australia, ensuring Trans-Tasman priorities are aligned. In this role you will:
  • Lead the team to implement standards and certifications, policies and systems that support and enhance EECA's objectives for energy use in NZ.
  • Provide specialist advice and expertise on emerging opportunities for interventions involving standards and regulations.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Participate in national and international standards forums as required.
He kōrero mōu | Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Strong management experience, especially in leading a team of technical experts
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or professional qualification in a related subject (science, engineering, or other relevant discipline).
  • Ability to lead subject matter experts to work through complexity and ambiguity to deliver high quality technical information
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management ability
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Experience in fostering collaborative teams.
