About the company:GERI (General Energy Recovery Inc.) is a Canadian Energy Transition Technology company that provides enhanced heavy-oil recovery solutions to simultaneously recover more oil and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.  With a mission of "Recovering More, Emitting Less", we aim to enable producers to achieve the tricky balance of boosting oil recovery, decarbonizing at speed, and ensuring healthy returns on abatement investments.  Role summary:The role of Senior PR Manager is responsible for developing and implementing GERI's PR and media strategy. Its purpose is to generate buzz and interest in GERI and its technologies, and drive leads, by ensuring appropriate and effective media coverage.Responsibilities: Develop a strong working knowledge of GERI's business including its history, its core and non-core technologies, the competitive landscape, key trends, and sales and marketing priorities to inform the PR strategy.Create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive public relations program that will drive awareness of, and interest in, GERI, its technology, and its products both in Canada and internationally.Foster and develop strong relationships with relevant trade publications, journalists, institutions, regulatory bodies, conference organizers and others (e.g. prominent energy transition technology bloggers and podcasters) to gain favourable opportunities for GERI.Help generate ideas for content that will make a 'splash' in the relevant media. Proactively pitch and secure media coverage for GERI stories, features, and events. Write insightful, high-quality, brand appropriate articles and content about GERI's story, its technology, its benefits, its place within the oil and energy transition ecosystem, etc… to be used in PR, on social media and on our website blog.Craft compelling press releases, statements, and other communication materials.Coordinate with target media and institutions on media and interview requests.Monitor press and social media coverage, global trends and inform the team of developments in the oil industry and energy transition ecosystem in monthly updates.Build and maintain a media list of key contacts.Manage the day-to-day PR budgetMeasure, analyse and summarize GERI's PR efforts in a bi-monthly report for the GERI management team.Education:Bachelor's degree in Public Relations or JournalismQualifications:7-10 years experience in Public Relations and/or JournalismExperience in the oil and gas, or energy transition industry, is a mustSuperior ability to understand and interpret needs of different stakeholders and audiences, as well as the strategic, corporate reputation and employer branding aspects of our business.Strong ability to understand complex information and write clearly and concisely for external audiences.Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to write both strategically and creatively under tight deadlines.Skilled at networking, building and maintain relationships with media professionals and other strategic partners.Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to changing situations.Excellent organizational, planning, prioritization and project management skills to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Highly focused, self-initiating with a results mindset.Strong existing media connections in the oil industry is a plus.
