Hadoop Developer/ Big Data DeveloperClient: Tech Consulting (Banking Project)Role: Hadoop DeveloperJob Type: Contract (6 month) + extensionLocation: Downtown Toronto (3 days in office)Your New CompanyOur client, a very well-known Consulting company looking to hire a Hadoop Developer for a banking project.Your New Role: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java and Spring Batch, along with expertise in Hadoop ecosystem technologies. This role involves working with large-scale data processing, storage, and analytics using Hadoop and related tools. If you are passionate about big data, distributed computing, and have a solid foundation in Java development, we encourage you to apply.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement Hadoop-based solutions.• Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code in Java and Spring Batch.• Develop and optimize data pipelines using Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, etc.).• Integrate with Azure services, including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Azure Data Factory (ADF).• Work with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL.• Design and implement SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize Hadoop jobs.• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality and availability.What You'll Need to Succeed:• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Hadoop developer.• Strong understanding of Java and Spring Batch framework.• Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, etc.).• Familiarity with Azure services (ADLS, ADF) is a plus.• Proficiency in NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL).• Solid SQL skills for data querying and reporting.• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.What You'll get in ReturnThe client is offering a 6-month engagement, with a high likelihood of extension.Interested?If you're available and interested in this role, please reply to Shivangi.gupta@hays.com as soon as you can attaching your updated resume and hourly rate requirement.
