Role DescriptionThe Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association (AMBA) seeks an experienced eLearning Instructional Designer to join our high-performing, dynamic team. Reporting to the Manager of Education, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging eLearning content that aligns with our organization's goals and objectives.The role requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles, multimedia development, and a creative approach to designing effective learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of instructional design experience with strong written communication skills.This fast-paced, high-impact role requires flexibility, dedication, and a strong desire to consistently deliver best-in-class instructional design work. It is best suited for a self-motivated candidate with high integrity.This is a full-time 12-month contract position with the possibility of extending the contract or transitioning to a permanent full-time role for the right candidate.Who We AreThe Alberta Mortgage Brokers Association (AMBA) is the collective voice of the mortgage brokerage industry in Alberta. You enjoy developing solid relationships with your co-workers and stakeholders and are a community builder.We are also giving preference to candidates who:Have creative ideas and aren't afraid to try new things.Have experience working in the not-for-profit sector.Are comfortable in a hybrid work situation.Can differentiate between when perfection is required vs. when "done" is good enough.Excel in a fast-paced, challenging work environment where priorities often compete.Value working somewhere where collaboration is the norm and feedback is encouraged and listened to.Approach work and life with optimism and positivity.A Snapshot of Key Role AccountabilitiesCurriculum Development duties include but are not limited to:Develop comprehensive eLearning curricula that address identified learning objectives.Utilize instructional design models and theories to create effective and engaging learning experiences.Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accurate and relevant content.Regularly evaluate courses in relation to prescribed competencies, program effectiveness and student feedback to identify areas for improvement or revision.Timely content revision to ensure we always deliver the most current information.Stay current with the latest instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices; continually enhance knowledge and skill through professional development.Multimedia Content Creation duties include but are not limited to:Identify, design, and develop the best approach to training requirements, including e-learning modules, videos, course assessments, and supporting materials.Incorporate innovative technologies and tools to enhance the visual and interactive aspects of eLearning modules.Ensure multimedia content aligns with instructional goals and learning outcomes.Learner-Centred Approach duties include but are not limited to:Apply a learner-centric mindset to create content accommodating various learning styles and preferences.Integrate effective and innovative instructional design strategies, technologies and resources into course design to enhance student engagement and achievement.Conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure content remains relevant and effective.Conduct formative and summative evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions and recommend improvements.Technology Integration duties include but are not limited to:Proficiently use eLearning authoring tools to develop interactive and user-friendly modules.Stay informed about emerging technologies and eLearning trends to enhance instructional design effectiveness.Utilize cutting-edge industry best practices, technology, and strategies to create innovative and interactive course content and supplementary materials.Project Management duties include but are not limited to:Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and project milestones.Collaborate with subject matter experts and other parties as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.Communicate effectively to gather project requirements, provide updates, and seek feedback.Team-Related duties include but are not limited to:Be an enthusiastic and optimistic member of your team.Embody passion and curiosity in your approach to teamwork.Commit to working with integrity and having courageous conversations.Embrace challenges as opportunities, and seek performance excellence.Build trustworthy and respectful relationships with your teammates and Manager.Benefits of Working at AMBAAMBA is committed to fair and equitable compensation for our entire team - both financially and in terms of opportunities to grow in their careers - and this extends to contracted staff.
