Job Description The incumbent for this position will work primarily in the disciplines of oral medicine and oral and maxillofacial pathology at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, and contribute to the development of teaching, services, clinical research, and knowledge translation in this field. These teaching, research, and service activities, including the supervision of students, will be linked to all aspects of this discipline at all undergraduate and graduate levels in dental medicine.

Selection criterias The candidate's area of expertise should cover the fields of oral and maxillofacial pathology, oral medicine and, more specifically, the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the oral cavity, chronic orofacial pain, and temporomandibular joint problems. In addition, the candidate's field of expertise should cover the treatment of medically compromised patients, medical emergencies in the dental practice and medical considerations in dentistry. Research experience, the ability to contribute to the development of clinical research and to collaborate with researchers in different fields will be highly valued.

The selected candidate must:

Hold a DMD or DDS;

Hold a permit to practice from the ODQ or undertake the process to obtain one;

Hold a post-graduate certificate in oral medicine and oral and maxillofacial pathology, or be in the process of obtaining one;

Hold or be in the process of obtaining a master's degree in science; candidates who hold a PhD, or who demonstrate an interest in pursuing PhD-level studies in a field relevant to the performance of their duties, will be given high consideration (under certain conditions, Université Laval may offer a financial support program to help meet the latter two conditions);

Demonstrate pedagogical skills; be able to teach in French or arrange to do so within a reasonable time.
