Senior Supervisor - Production

Our Lihir operation in Mining Departmentis now recruiting for the position of Senior Supervisor - Production for FIFO role based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO). Reporting to Superintendent – Mine Production , you will be required to oversee and manage day-to-day production activities, maintaining high standard of safety by enhancing the Newmont Global standards and achieving production targets. The role will have responsibility to:

• Ensure personal and team compliance with all company HSE requirements & policies including Fitness for Work.
• Work constructively within a diverse group of people including internal & external customers.
• Conducting target number of CCV’s in operational areas per week.
• Plan and conduct safety toolbox meeting once per rotation.
• Monitor all technology currently in use in the mine, DSS and Read iWatch for fatigue management.
• Monitor all proximity detection systems.
• Manage shift operations in line with Weekly and Daily plans.
• Consult with all stakeholders from process and maintenance teams and contractors in the mine.
• Achieve design compliance on pit and dump designs.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs as required.
• Allocate resources to provide optimal crusher feed material and blend compliance to achieve daily and weekly plans.
• Maintain roads and drainage to increase tyre life and equipment availabilities.
• Maintain high level of focus on Operator Driven Reliability of all mobile plant and equipment.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as required by management and relevant stakeholders.

Ideally, our preferred applicant will have;

• Minimum of Grade 10 Certificate with at least of 10 years of experience in a world class open cut mine.
• At least 10 years’ experience in the management of mining operations at a senior level and preferably within a world class open cut mine.
• Possess supervisory skill / experience in related field of work.
• Ability to operate mobile plant.
• A sound knowledge of all mining safety and operations areas, including drill & blast and impact on the load and haul process.
• Ability to be patient, and to foster communication, teamwork, and co-operation.
• The ability and drive to lead a multinational team in a technically challenging and geographically remote environment.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite, and advanced Excel skills.
• Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail with good time management skills.

The Requirements

• Must be available for FIFO to Lihir
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
• Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
