You're like a three-headed dragon: a powerful and mythical creature able to unify the design language of a large company, inspire other designers to achieve greatness and still find time to push pixels with relish. To be considered, a detailed portfolio demonstrating your design thinking and thought process is required at application. What you'll be doing We have a large and complex product ecosystem spanning 6 countries and a team of 60 people from 20 different countries. Both need a visionary, decisive Principal. Designer to lead the way and lead by example, hands-on. What's more, you will. evangelise the importance and impact of design and take calculated risks with all eyes on you. So, yes, we are looking for an almost mythical creature. Here's what your week might look like

  • You'll probably start your week by checking in with the teams and projects you are leading independently or in conjunction with key project team members.
  • You will need to balance high aesthetic standards with not losing sight of the big picture.
  • Speaking of the big picture, we need your help on UX strategy and maturity. You'll conduct discovery activities to define high level user stories; identifying key features and capabilities needed with our stakeholders.
  • Able to produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specs independently or with key project members to communicate detailed designs and solutions to guide development sprints
  • Conduct and communicate research findings, design rationale effectively with data with product analytics data or user testing with end users
  • Exploring and creating new patterns for our Design Language System will be an important part of your work. Juggling hands-on work with mentoring can be hard. We know that, and we're always trying to improve the way we work, such as having no-meeting days and enabling people to spend a percentage of their time on passion projects.
  • We want to encourage our team to share their work more, and we would love you to lead some of those sessions.
  • You will also need to engage in design reviews at the executive level, guiding our stakeholders so that the feedback we get is about the problems, not solutions.
• We have a large, still-growing team, so we love good processes and effective tools that enable us to work smarter. We want your ideas on how we can work faster and smarter. Here are the experience and skills we'd love you to have
  • You have demonstrated design excellence in multiple successful projects.
  • You have demonstrated an ability to understand abstract interconnected problems but still think out of the box in solutioning.
  • You have demonstrated an ability to make structure out of ambiguous situations and set a clear pathway for the team to unpack and untangle interconnected problems and translate the vision into tangible outputs.
  • You can talk confidently and clearly about design and build lasting relationships with our stakeholders.
  • You understand the business needs, are very comfortable with qualitative and quantitative data and always get to the root of the problem.
  • You have 10+ years of experience in design. A bonus if you have managed a team for 4+ years (preferably in medium or large organisations).

  • You have experience in the fintech industry.

  • Your work is well-known within the design community.
Your team and career This role sits within the Institutional Banking Group design team, and is based in Singapore. The team is tasked to deliver best in class customer experience in the digital product journeys for retail and wealth customer segments.
