We are looking for a Permanent Full-time, Certified Vocational Professional to work based out of Skymark, Head office, Mississauga. This position is hybrid remote. Key Job Functions

  • Provide vocational rehabilitation services to adults who have sustained injuries or illnesses and are challenged by employment barriers.
  • Provide vocational counseling, case management, job coaching and referrals as necessary.
  • Complete Transferable Skills analysis and Labour Market Evaluations.
  • Responsible for the formulation of a comprehensive report detailing evaluation/service results and recommendations for further rehabilitation and/or career planning services as necessary.
  • Complete progress reports.
  • Work with employers to implement necessary work accommodations.
  • Client monitoring and reporting; Managing the caseload so that individuals receive the appropriate level of support in the early stages of employment and / or training.
  • Provides vocational rehabilitation services such as (but not limited to) career counseling, facilitation of job preparation workshops, resume/cover letter preparation, interview skills, and overall management and follow-up of services requested.
  • Formulate sound vocational action plans, having regard for all reviewed medical documentation, and intellectual and socioeconomic factors.
Skills and Abilities
  • Secondary Education, training and/or experience in Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Experience working in Vocational Rehabilitation with people with disabilities.
  • Certification as a CVRP, or eligibility for and willing to apply within 6 months (preferred)
  • Registration with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (CVRP), or eligibility for and willing to apply within 6 months (preferred).
  • Knowledge of the progression of injury, disability, and rehabilitation.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Organizational skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to gather and evaluate data and make sound recommendations.
  • Communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coordinate several vocational evaluation programs simultaneously.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office software.
  • Technical aptitude
  • Comfortable working with new programs and systems.
  • Ability to travel to locations as required daily on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work with and communicate as a liaison between medical professionals, case managers, and other service providers.
