Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity' In this new people leadership role, you will develop, support and maintain a strong and effective team of high performing Project Managers. You may already be an experienced people leader, or this may be a new growth area for you. Working closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, and their teams, you will provide coaching, development and support to your team members while helping them to connect in with the wider business. Utilising best practice project management processes, you will drive and implement initiatives and improvements to enable your team to successfully deliver on Waka Kotahi infrastructure projects. Ko koe tēnei | About you' To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • A growth mindset and a willingness to develop your people leadership skills
  • A focus on people, keeping their health & wellbeing at the forefront
  • 8+ years' experience Project Management in a project management environment and ideally with experience working on complex business programmes and projects across a diverse portifolio including civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders, and developing and delivering effective project management communication is essential
  • Experience in using relevant systems in a project environment, ideally with PlanView, SAP, TIO or relevant financial experience
  • Post-graduate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Transport Planning, Engineering, Project Management) or equivalent experience
  • Membership of a professional body is desirable
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
