Diabetes Care Kilkenny Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies, including the FreeStyle Libre 3, a system that automatically delivers real-time, up-to-the-minute glucose readings, with the smallest and thinnest wearable glucose sensor that provides unsurpassed 14-day accuracy and optional glucose alarms directly to smartphones. At Abbott in Kilkenny, you can shape your career as you help shape the future of healthcare.  This is how you can make a difference at Abbott: As Supply Chain/ Purchasing Lead you will be responsible for the coordination and monitoring all supply and logistics activities to ensure a cost-effective flow of merchandise from suppliers to customers. It will be a very big plus if you can bring experience in developing projects or sites from square one. This is an exciting time to join, and be part of a fantastic new site. Some details on this fantastic opportunity: Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Supervise the day-to-day activities of a team of professionals to ensure purchasing and supply chain projects are delivered on time.
• Lead the implementation of SAP purchasing modules and MRP.
• Lead role for materials planning and control, procurement and inventory management functions.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies and procedures.
• Ensure optimum inventory levels are maintained in line with company policy.
• Drive innovation and improvements in both workflow and systems.
• Ensure MRP parameters and SAP master data are maintained.
• Review MRP plans from SAP and execute purchase orders.
• Setup appropriate replenishment plans for purchased materials.
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations.
• Liaise with logistics providers and customs regarding importation of materials.
• Review and approval of purchase orders.
• Cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A relevant 3rd Level Qualification.
• 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Good understanding of MRP and ERP systems.
• Proficient using Microsoft applications.
• Experience with SAP desirable but not essential.
