RTR Tower Lead – GBS Location: Balbriggan Ireland Role Description: Key role reporting in to the Head of GBS (Global Business Services Centre in Balbriggan, Ireland) This is a 14 month maternity contract Scope of Role
- Responsible for managing the RTR tower as part of the GBS organisation . This role combines operational responsibility for RTR and Tax accounting performance along with managing the relationship with G roup Finance, Commercial Finance and local controllers .
- Build the new RTR organisation leveraging the incumbent team and adding capabilities and skills at the right level.
- Manag e a team of tax , general ledger and reporting accountants ; hiring, training and professional development support
- Manage the day-to-day performance of GBS RTR operations , d elivering best-in-class service to customers, suppliers, growers and internal stakeholder s , meeting or exceeding agreed upon performance targets.
- Key partner for RTR tower lead is Group Finance and Commercial Finance , RTR tower supports them in production of timely and accurate
- Group reporting and analysis
- Statutory reporting and filings
- Ensure completeness of month and year end closings and assure compliance with group policies related to general and tax accounting and reporting (management and statutory accounts) using various finance systems (e.g. SAP ERP, BPC reporting, etc.)
- Build and maintain a service-oriented relationship with operational/business teams based upon collaboration, trust and expertise.
- Coordinate with other stakeholders (e.g. Finance & IT Leadership, IT Support, Treasury, Accounting, Commercial , Supply Chain ) to align on priorities and issue resolution
- Participate in projects to drive improvements across the RTR / Tax process (EDI projects, ERP projects, new databases and tools implementation, etc.)
- Identify opportunities for standardisation and harmonization of these processes, increase effectiveness and efficiency based on benchmark analysis and best practices
- Identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and system enhancement for end -to-end RTR and Tax related processes
- Identify possible non-compliance with internal procedures, processes, and standards and propose/ implement remediation actions .
- Actively participate in the global RTR and tax communities for training and development of the team and for creation of an inspiring work environment
- Prior experience of working in a manager role , as a tower lead or team lead , in GBS / SSC environment
- Prior e xperience (10+ years) of working in general Accounting and Reporting within a mid-large multi-national organisation or in a GBS/ SSC structure
- Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration with strong interest in and affinity with IT and Business processes
- Additional certification a plus (CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CMA, Lean Six Sigma or Equivalent)
- Full fluency in English, 2nd or 3rd language ( German, Dutch, Spanish) a n advantage
- Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA is an advantage
- Ability to work independently, productively and as part of a team
- Outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills and ability to liaise with Finance and non-Finance professionals at various levels , both locally and at Group/ GBS
- S trong business acumen and understanding of functional linkages. Ability to interact and/or manage cross-functional teams (e.g. Operations, Finance, etc.) and provide finance, accounting and/or internal control expertise
- Excellent people management, organisational and time management skills
- A bility to obtain (senior) management buy-in for constructive change
