Business Function: Group Strategic Marketing & Communications is responsible for building, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBS Group, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus on communications especially digital communications, marketing and research to differentiate - and elevate - our brand from the rest of the competition. Job Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader and change agent to lead one of the two DBS Foundation supported themes. To date, the DBS Foundation is known for championing social entrepreneurship and implementing various community support programmes.Going forward we will build on this with a focus on providing daily needs for the less fortunate and improving financial literacy and inclusion levels of vulnerable segments across Asia. As such the incumbent will play a pivotal role in enhancing the DBS Foundation brand while driving its ability to deliver social impact at scale. The incumbent will also need to be well versed in governance matters, in measuring impact outcomes, and ensuring that all initiatives create scalable impact & enable sustainable change. Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement high-level strategies to advance the foundation's mission of improving lives and livelihoods , specifically in the areas of providing daily needs such food, shelter/housing, mental health, education and financial inclusion.
  • Provide visionary leadership to inspire and motivate a diverse team from all parts - teams and geographies - of the bank.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in the social impact space.
Governance and Compliance:
  • Establish and maintain robust governance structures and processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to govern the foundation's operations and activities.
Impact Measurement and Evaluation:
  • Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of the foundation's initiatives across the region.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to continuously drive effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Communicate impact findings internally and externally to stakeholders, partners, and impact investors.
Partnership and Collaboration:
  • Cultivate and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, corporations, academia, and community-based organizations, to amplify the foundation's impact.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to leverage cross-functional expertise and resources for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Advocacy and Thought Leadership:
  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the foundation, promoting its mission, values, and impact to diverse audiences through various channels and platforms.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives, including writing articles, speaking at conferences, and participating in industry events to drive discourse and innovation in the social impact sector.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience overall with at least 5 years in the nonprofit, philanthropic, or social impact sector. A proven track record of driving change, implementing strategic initiatives and achieving measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of social entrepreneurship, community development, and impact measurement methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communications and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and shape relationships with diverse range of internal & external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into action and mobilize teams towards common objectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
  • Willingness to travel within Asia as needed.
