Job Summary As a GIS Specialist, you will play a vital role in utilizing GIS technology to support our current project. You will be responsible for managing spatial data, conducting spatial analysis, and producing maps and visualizations to aid project planning, design, and decision-making processes. Your proficiency in GIS software, data management, and spatial analysis will contribute to the success of our projects and initiatives. Responsibilities
- Collect, compile, and manage spatial data sets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
- Organize and maintain GIS databases, layers, and files in accordance with established standards and protocols.
- Perform data conversion, digitization, and georeferencing tasks to prepare spatial data for analysis and visualization.
- Conduct spatial analysis and modeling using GIS software to support project planning, site selection, and resource allocation.
- Analyze terrain, land use, and environmental data to identify potential project risks, constraints, and opportunities.
- Perform proximity analysis, buffer analysis, and suitability analysis to inform project decision-making processes.
- Create maps, charts, and visualizations to communicate spatial information and analysis results to project teams and stakeholders.
- Design and produce thematic maps, overlays, and geospatial products to support project planning, design, and communication efforts.
- Develop interactive web-based maps and applications for data sharing, collaboration, and public engagement.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, planners, and other project personnel to integrate GIS into project workflows and decision-making processes.
- Provide technical support and expertise on GIS-related issues, including data analysis, interpretation, and visualization.
- Assist in the preparation of project reports, presentations, and documentation by providing GIS-based spatial analysis and visualizations.
- Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, geomatics, environmental science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS analysis, data management, and mapping, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms, with strong skills in spatial analysis and visualization.
- Knowledge of spatial data formats, coordinate systems, and cartographic principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
