About the Department The Global Market function leverages our in-depth knowledge of markets to provide timely financial advice, products and solutions to our clients. Together with our segment managers, we manage our clients' investment, liability and risk management needs through a comprehensive suite of treasury products and services across multiple asset classes. Job Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders and/ or clients, drafting, negotiating of, reviewing and finalizing various trading master agreements e.g. ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, Global Master Repurchase Agreements, Global Master Securities Lending Agreements and any and all other securities, collateral/ collateralization, foreign exchange trading agreements in respect of any and all banking, treasury and financial products related to, arising out of or in connection with Global Markets' businesses and/ or operations (collectively "Agreements").
  • In collaboration with internal stakeholders and/ or clients, drafting, negotiating of, reviewing and finalizing any and all amendments to, and novations in respect of, the Agreements, as well as any and all other ancillary and incidental agreements or documents thereto.
  • Coordinating and facilitating executions of the aforementioned documentation, having regard to the bank's relevant requirements and/ or standard operating procedures.
  • Providing legal advisory services and support to internal stakeholders in respect of Global Markets' existing and new products (including via the relevant banking system), businesses and/ or operations, including without limitation, reviewing and advising on trade confirmations, term sheets, project financing documents and like agreements as requested by internal stakeholders from time to time, and coordinating with Group Legal for their advice on the foregoing agreements/ documents as applicable and as required.
  • Reviewing legal opinions in relation to the Agreements for relevant jurisdictions as assigned, and providing legal advice on the same as well as conjuring memoranda in summary of the same.
  • Reviewing and updating periodically internal processes and related manuals.
  • Handling issues and queries raised by Audit (internal and external) periodically and from time to time.
  • Assisting head of department/ line manager in various regulatory/ industry-wide/ cross-border initiatives and projects as assigned, for purposes of, amongst other things, compliance with any and all regulatory reforms/ changes/ transitions and the timelines thereto.
  • Engaging and corresponding with the bank's panel lawyers for any of the abovementioned tasks as required e.g. issuances of legal opinions, rendering of legal assistance.
  • General data governance work, input/ updating of requisite data, trade reporting with respect to legal documents/ projects via relevant banking systems/ registers/ data depositories.
Job Requirements
  • Recognized Degree/ Diploma in Law/ legal studies/ banking/ finance
  • Minimum 6-8 years' experience in legal advisory and/ or banking roles, with relevant prior experience in legal drafting and documentation
  • Good knowledge of derivatives/ treasury products as well as familiarity with legal concepts and regulations would be preferred
  • Being resourceful, accountable, analytical and meticulous is a must
  • Strong computer literacy in MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point is required; proficiencies in system-based programs would be advantageous and preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and correspond well across departments and segments within the bank
