Kotak Education Foundations (KEF) mission is to support children and youth from underprivileged families through different education based interventions to rise above the poverty line and lead a life of dignity through sustainable processes. KEF works with some of Indias most economically underprivileged communities attempting to alleviate poverty through education and livelihood programs. KEF works with multiple regional language governmentaided private institutions. These schools have been set up by social entrepreneurs and lack quality teaching infrastructure and leadership. Through its various programs across education innovative healthcare and livelihood training programs the foundation supplements the efforts of these schools to improve their conditions. Role & responsibilities: Overview

  • Develop the Finance strategy in consultation with CFO and manage relationships with donors & partners
  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
  • Retain constant awareness of the companys financial position and act to prevent problems
  • Set up and oversee the companys finance IT system
  • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
Finance Flows and Budgets:
  • Developing tracking reviewing analyzing reporting and managing financial flows and budgets for the organization
  • Donor relations: Working on funder due diligence and development of core and project budgets; negotiating coordinating and administering grants and reviewing donor contract/s. Developing budgets utilization and overall financial reporting to donors on the utilization of funds. Comply with financial due diligences periodic reporting (monthly quarterly semiannual and annual) and audit requirements from donor/s
  • Internal Control Mechanisms:
  • Enhance internal financial and administrative system and accounting practices with the goal of timely and accurate tracking of expense on projects at PAN India level and core expenses incurred from various functions in Head Office and the field
Organizational Performance:
  • Provide accurate financial information; reports dashboards KPIs to manage systems processes and people. Overseeing reporting and monitoring of organizational performance metrics. Provide analysis for strategic plan and guide legal issues
  • Compliances : Ensuring timely statutory compliances and adherence to Income Tax Act Companies Act 80G and FCRA regulations etc. Responsible for end to end audit management
Relationship Management
  • Reports to Chief Financial Officer
  • Direct reportees: Senior Manager MIS Manager and other key resources
  • Maintain good relationship inter and intra interventions / projects in the organization
  • Team Development and Supervision
  • Lead and guide the team in accomplishing set goals in time
  • Guide and mentor team and bring in inclusive practices
  • Provide mentorship for the team and provide guidance in career progress and selfdevelopment
Education PostGraduate Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance with a background in Information Technology and Commerce Experience:
  • Minimum of 1215 years of core experience in management of financial flows donor reporting internal control mechanisms organization performance management matrix compliances
  • Preferably from NGOs / MFI / for profit organizations with budget of more than 100 crores
Work Skills
  • Good knowledge of computer Windows & Microsoft Office (Outlook Word PowerPoint etc.)

Job Specifications:
  • Nature of job: Permanent
  • Location: Mumbai KEF HO
  • Hours of work 08:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Working conditions There are two week offs in a month apart from casual and privilege leaves.
  • This job will also involve working in challenging community areas with infrastructural and other disadvantages.
