Position Overview The O&M Engineer responsibilities includes technical asset management, plant operations & maintenance. The role will require him/ her to ensure PV operations in Malaysia are performing. Consequently, he/ she will need to have the technical knowhow to troubleshoot and resolve multidisciplinary concerns that arise from the PV system. Additionally, he/ she will need to manage the team of O&M personnel and contractors in Malaysia. Roles and Responsibilities:- Manage PV system Operations including documentation management, plant monitoring and supervision, inventory, performance analysis and improvement, optimization of O&M, power plant controls, grid code compliance and operational reporting
- Manage PV system maintenance including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and additional services
- Manage of plant performance include tracking of key performance indicators: PR, specific yield, and availability
- Manage O&M personnel’s KPIs include fault detection time, response time, rectification time.
- Manage O&M personnel’s skills including experience, technical knowhow, communication contractors and client
- Manage health and safety of O&M personnel
- Manage backend data acquisition system to ensure continuous remote visibility to the plant
- Manage plant quality post installation ensuring projects are up to high standards
- Reporting including performance tracker, monthly report, etc to Head O&M
- Manage contract commitments to clients
- Improvement and Creation of O&M processes to improve workflow and scalability
- Training of O&M personnel to improve competency
- Support on client invoicing process
- Support for RECs registration and audit
- Minimum Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical or Mechanical
- Preferred Master Degree in Renewable Energy, Specializing in Solar Energy, BESS, Power Grid, Electrical Engineering will be a plus
- Certification: Working at height (WAH)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Solar industry
- Possess knowledge of Solar Photovoltaics System, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Solar PV System relevant standards and practices, Construction understanding and Procurement.
- Proficient in Excel
- Understanding of different PV inverter workings
- Understanding of electrical and PV testing equipment and tools
- Proficient in coding is a plus
