Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Oracle Database and MS SQL Server administration and support for various projects and clients.
- Develop database objects such as tables, indexes, and other necessary components.
- Author database procedures, functions, and triggers as required.
- Collaborate with developers on database-related tasks and assist in query optimization.
- Aid application teams in resolving application/database issues, liaising with vendors when necessary for database support.
- Design and implement standards to monitor and enhance database capacity and performance.
- Coordinate with customers and project managers for database infrastructure setup according to application requirements.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate with project managers and application support for database upgrades and server patches.
- Manage database backup and recovery procedures, ensuring monitoring for backup processes.
- Provide installation, setup, and support for databases across different environments, including SIT, UAT, and Production.
- Configure and manage day-to-day operations of database backups.
- At least 5 years of experience in database administration, particularly with Oracle RDBMS, on Solaris/Unix/Linux platforms. Familiarity with managing Oracle Golden Gate and MS SQL Servers is advantageous.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL and experience in troubleshooting and maintaining Oracle databases.
- Competence in database security hardening, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, project managers, and vendors for database infrastructure setup and installation.
- Capability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and ensure optimal availability of database systems for customers.
- Strong customer focus with a commitment to continuous improvement in database availability and performance.
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining Oracle databases and Oracle Golden Gates is beneficial.
- Proficiency in shell scripting is preferred.
