Business Function Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels. Responsibilities
- Overseeing the database administration functions which includes
- Database installation
- Database implementation
- Datbase backup and maintenance
- Basic optimization of PostgreSQL DBMS
- Preparing documentations and specifications
- Work various work schedules that support a 24x7 coverage may include nights, weekends and holidays
- Moderate proficiency in PostgreSQL database management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration.
- Moderate knowledge in PostgreSQL core components and concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating system (RedHat) and Linux commands.
- Experience in installing and configuring PostgreSQL.
- Experience in setting up replication.
- Experience in preparing documentations and specifications.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of limitations in PostgreSQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases.
- Maintaining production, UAT and dev databases without outage
- Familiarity with other databases such as MariaDB, MySQL or Oracle will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to learn and teach back.
- Should be a good team player.
