Fluid Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a highly regarding multi-disciplinary consultancy in search for a senior civil engineer to join one of their Central Lakes district offices. Employing approximately 90 staff over seven locations across the South Island, they are a prominent and long-standing multi-disciplinary consultancy in the Otago and Canterbury regions. This opportunity is catered to an individual who enjoys working as part of a proactive and supportive team. Joining this organisation means working on projects from conception until completion, collaborating with the experienced inhouse surveyors and engineers. The highly experienced principals of each sector not only provide a solid foundation for career development but also provide the capability to take on more challenging and complex projects that build on the team's skillset. You will have

  • 5 to 10 years prior experience in a leadership role in the engineering sector
  • A tertiary degree or equivalent, in an engineering discipline, ideally Civil or Environmental.
  • Confident Civil 3d or 12D design skills to produce design calculations, drawings, and designs.
  • Knowledge around drafting, interpreting, and evaluating specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures
  • Experience building relationships with clients and within a diverse work environment
The role As the senior civil engineer, you will be tasked with expanding the team, taking on increased responsibility on achieving engineering outcomes at both the technical and business development level. It is an opportunity to join a firm as they enter a new phase of expansion. In this role, you will be involved in business development initiatives, managing existing clients while building relationships with existing clients. Spearheading the design and provision of technical guidance for significant local projects. You will have autonomy over your projects and will be instrumental in advancing the civil sector. Key responsibilities include:
  • Utilizing cutting-edge software and tools to create detailed designs and models
  • Engage regularly with clients, maintaining existing and building new relationships.
  • Be responsible for project delivery on a range of projects in varying sectors
  • Mentoring and engaging team members to enhance team productivity and cohesiveness
  • Coordinating with the organisations surveying and planning divisions to deliver projects.
