Accountant - Remote Europe

We’ve also received personal investment from some of Europe’s most successful founders (e.g. Revolut, Monzo, Songkick & InFarm founders), as well as founders of several successful B2B Marketplaces About the role: Support the establishment of a best in class finance and accounting function. This role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who would like to be part of transitioning the Company to be audit ready and have a real impact. As the company is growing quickly, career progression opportunities are likely to arise for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and perform month-end close activities such as prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, inventory and balance sheet reconciliation
• Invoice finance: including forecasting, transaction management and potentially product improvement to automate
• VAT return review
• Ensure OPEX invoices are coded correctly (e.g. account code, VAT code)
• Review employee and contractor expenses in accordance with Company policy
• Manage claims credit notes and agent commissions
• Support the establishment and maintenance of financial controls
• Contribute to the improvement of current processes
• Support the daily operation of the accounting team
• Meet KPI targets
• Ad-hoc requests

• Qualified accountant (e.g ACCA, CIMA)
• UK VAT and tax knowledge is highly desirable
• Xero experience is preferred
• SQL is an advantage
• Worked at a start-up company or in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working in an unstructured environment
• Taking ownership of own work
• Proven record of process improvements
• Control and critical mindset, not afraid of challenging current processes
• Proactive approach to problem solving
• Highly organised and able to prioritise workload in a multitasking environment
