Job Title: Director of Medical Registries Base Location: EACTS are based in Windsor, Berkshire (UK) Working Pattern: UK based role, remote working with ability to work in Windsor office 1-2 days per week. EACTS is operating a European Registry and travel across Europe is part of the remit of the role. Who are EACTS?: EACTS (European Association of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery) mission is to advance education in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular interventions, and foster research in cardiovascular and thoracic physiology, pathology, and therapy. The goal is to correlate and disseminate results for public benefit. What you’ll be doing: The Director of Clinical Registries in close cooperation with the QUIP Committee Chair will lead the operational and strategic activities of the EACTS international clinical registries, including the redevelopment and management of the Adult Cardiac Database (ACD). Operational - Databases’ Activities:

  • Lead the operational development and data management for ACD and EUROMACS Registries.
  • Maintain relationships with participating hospitals, recruit new participants, and support member onboarding.
  • Manage formalization of agreements and onboarding of participants to the Registries.
  • Implement data audit processes through statistical methods and on-site/peer-to-peer audits.
Adult Cardiac Database - Redevelopment Project:
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders for ACD redevelopment.
  • Support transition of participating hospitals to the new ACD platform.
  • Work with Scientific Lead to test ACD changes and future enhancements.
Operational - General:
  • Lead the Clinical Registries (ACD / EUROMACS) and the modernisation Programme’s financial performance including budgetary planning.
  • Engage with communications and marketing teams for the generation and dissemination of effective content to support Clinical Registries modernisation.
  • Work closely Scientific Lead to stimulate scientific and research output from the databases with review and approval of research applications.
  • Coordinate quality collaborative meetings with database participants for continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring to role:
  • Experience in the development and enhancement of Clinical/Medical Registry databases or other Clinical/Medical Research & Data repositories.
  • Experience of engagement with hospitals, medical practioners and research bodies.
  • Understanding of bidding for and receiving Grant and/or Research Funding
  • Provision of leadership across technical and non-resources, developing and maximizing their potential of Registries as a resource to the benefit of improved clinical and medical outcomes.
  • Experience of working at a senior level, engaging with senior stakeholders (scientific, medical and directors) both inside your own organisation but also external partners.
  • A passion for the use of data & research capabilities in helping improve clinical outcomes.
