Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House Full-time Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is looking for a Visitor Services Coordinator to grow our event visitors at our heritage property in Christchurch – Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House. Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House was home to the famous suffragist during the time she campaigned to win women the right to vote in New Zealand. This place tells the story of Kate Sheppard, the suffrage movement and the legacy of social change in New Zealand. The Visitor Services Co-ordinator will assist the Property Lead in the daily operations of this property. The role is varied and interesting and involves co-ordinating bookings, events and engagement programmes, liaising with partners and stakeholders, sales, assisting with retail operations, welcoming visitors and assisting with administration and housekeeping. Our ideal candidate will have highly effective planning and organisational skills, including time management and prioritising workload in a busy work environment; good relationship building skills and the ability to get sales results; a passion for creating wow factor functions and events. Skills and experience in a relevant field such as event management, tourism or heritage would be an advantage. The role includes working at weekends on a regular basis and on some evenings for events. If you are an effective organiser with strong communication skills and enthusiastic about telling a world-changing story this role is for you!
