He angitūtanga | The Opportunity We are looking for a customer centric, solutions focussed person to help deliver quality compliance services within the Rangitīkei District. You will have a collaborative style, with outstanding communication skills which enable you to be effective at influencing and managing relationships to achieve results. Day-to-day, you will manage associated public enquiries and complaints, and undertake enforcement action as required. You will also seek to protect communities by managing compliance with our district plan. Your work will be done within relevant legislation, timeframes, and delegated authorities, with a focus on providing high-quality advice and support to Council staff, customers, and other stakeholders. A good understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991 is desirable, but we also would also be interested in candidates with compliance, enforcement regulatory experience in a relevant industry. This role would be perfect for someone that wants to be involved in the planning industry and has an interest in learning and growing. This is a full-time permanent role and based in our main office in Marton . However, travel throughout the district will be required as part of your role. He aha te mahi| What you will do - Establish and maintain good professional relationships with internal and external contacts and customers - Promote, monitor, and investigate compliance with the Resource Management Act 1991- Effectively implement and take action to enforce the objectives, policies and rules of Council - Monitor, investigate and enforce legislation within the Regulatory environment - Support the Council’s Building Department with enforcement and compliance as required - Support the wider Council team with enforcement and compliance Ko wai to Pukeka| What you will bring - Tertiary level NZ Certificate in Regulatory Compliance or 2-3 years relevant experience - Experience in understanding and application of legislation - Strong customer service skills and a consultative approach - Be solutions focused - Self-motivated, proactive and organised - Personal resilience and an ability to effectively manage competing demands.
