We are seeking an exceptionally dynamic and experienced Operations Director for our Contract Logistics division. The primary focus of this role is to expand our Contract Logistics presence throughout the Asia Pacific region with a particular focus in Malaysia and Indonesia. The position is based in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and will report directly to the Vice President of Contract Logistics for Southeast Asia. As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing contract management and customer operations. Your main objective will be to develop a well-structured organization that excels in delivering high-quality services and meeting customer expectations through operational excellence. You will drive both new business wins and implementation efforts, as well as foster organic growth. Additionally, you will play a key role in building and nurturing strong customer relationships, collaborating closely with the commercial teams to identify and capitalize on shared opportunities. Leading and managing operations teams will be a critical part of your role, ensuring efficient resource planning and performance management. Furthermore, you will prioritize a "Safety First" culture, with a focus on occupational health, environmental sustainability, and quality standards. Customer & Stakeholder Relations

  • Builds and sustains partnerships and collaborations with both internal teams and customers, conducts consistent performance discussions with customers to ensure transparency and foster strong relationships.
  • Promotes innovative and digital solutions to enhance operational efficiencies and productivities, maximizing value delivery, collaborates closely with customers and immediate superior in budget formulation and financial monitoring.
  • Oversees effective contract administration and regularly reviews service scopes, takes the leading role in new operational deployments, utilizing experience and expertise to minimize risks.
  • Proactively spots areas for service improvement for customers, designs and executes initiatives and processes within purview, seizes the initiative to identify new business opportunities to facilitate growth.
People Management & Leadership
  • Works closely with the HR Department in the recruitment and selection procedures for key roles within the Business Unit. Establishes and monitors performance targets and goals and assesses performance in relation to those.
  • Fosters a culture of performance management among direct reports to encourage continuous improvement recognizes training and development requirements and actively works with individuals to promote their career growth and personal development.
  • Effectively addresses any underperformance, strictly following the DP World standard processes and maintains a proactive focus on succession planning to fulfill business requirements.
P&L Financial Management
  • Coordinates closely with customers and direct supervisor in formulating budget and tracking financial progress, ensures efficient contract supervision, and frequently evaluates the range of services.
  • Takes a leading role in all new operational deployments, capitalizing on experience and knowledge to reduce risks and minimize disruption.
  • Proactively identify areas of service improvement for customers and devise initiatives and procedures within purview. Initiates the identification of new business prospects to sustain growth.
Job Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. An MBA or other relevant postgraduate degree can be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years in Contract Logistics Management, Supply Chain, or a related field, with a proven track record in managing large, diverse teams and handling complex logistics operations.
  • Deep understanding of contract logistics, supply chain management, warehousing and distribution, and transportation management.
  • Familiarity with the Contract Logistics sector in Vietnam and knowledge of local regulations and market dynamics is essential.
  • Demonstrated proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage conflicts, and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise with different stakeholders, including customers, staff, and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to manage operational issues, logistical challenges, and business strategy.
  • Strong project management skills including planning, execution, and monitoring of operations.
