Senior Substation Engineer - Calgary, Alberta, CanadaGryphon Oakwood are seeking a talented Senior Substation Engineer, PE for an engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, throughout Canada the United States.Essential Responsibilities• Work with team to design substation protection schemes and develop layout of high voltage substation equipment • Manage engineering design for substation projects including quality, schedule, and budget • Act as the engineer of record for responsible projects • Interface with internal and external team members such as substation engineers, solar engineers, study engineers, project coordinators, electrical designers, drafters, and project managers • Take ownership of projects to meet and exceed client expectations • Prepare and review equipment specifications and procurement documents • Perform QA/QC of substation design packages • Develop recommendations for equipment and material per requirements and safety guidelines Requirements• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering • 5+ years' experience in HV substation design• Experience as a project engineer or lead engineer • Electrical Professional Engineer (PE)/(P.Eng) license • Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards • Power transformer specification design • Substation equipment specification experience • Support/Lead development of standards, optimizations, and processes • Must be client centered with focus on high quality and innovationIf this role could be of interest and matches your background and experience please reach out to Andrew Rothwell (andrew.rothwell@gryphonwood.com) for a confidential discussion.
