Job Description: Internal Sales EngineerBrief Role Description: The Internal Sales Engineer plays a crucial role as inside technical support for one to three Field Sales Engineers and as an account manager for assigned customers. This position serves as entry-level training with the expectation of advancing to a Field Sales Engineer as part of a career path. The primary responsibility involves achieving continuous sales and profit growth, managing customer portfolios, and building strong relationships through a consultative-selling approach.Our Purpose: Create sustainable value for all stakeholders as we engineer a more efficient, safer, and sustainable world.Our Company Strategic Objectives:Self-generated growth leveraging global megatrends, maintaining trading margin.An aligned, engaged, and inclusive organization with an entrepreneurial spirit.To become a global leader in industrial sustainability.The Territory: British ColumbiaJob Description: Internal Sales EngineerPrimary Responsibilities:Provide technical selections and applications support to assigned Field Sales Engineers.Deliver superior customer value, focusing on satisfying customers' needs cost-effectively.Ethically achieve sales and profit growth targets through rigorous sales process management.Manage opportunity pipeline, sales forecasting, and customer pricing for sustainable growth.Collaborate with Field-based Sales Engineers and Customer Sales Advisors on complex opportunities.Customer Engagement:Focus on 'want-it-all' type customers with high-value demands.Utilize consultative selling, mostly via phone, video calls, and emails, with occasional planned customer visits.Relevant Experience:Previous experience in a technical or commercial role within a customer-facing environment.Proactive portfolio and customer management skills.Desirable: Experience with consultative selling techniques and knowledge of process control applications.Skills and Competencies:Technical "learnability," target and goal-driven.Confidence and professionalism in presentation.Empathy and listening skills to influence stakeholders.Desirable: Industrial process knowledge, new business development experience.Qualifications:Essential: Recognized technical or business qualification or solid experience in B2B sales.Desirable: Digital connected services and/or sustainability knowledge, business management qualification.Expectations:Short-term (Next six months):Successfully complete induction program and progress against assigned Academy modules.Build relationships with the team, Field-based Sales Engineers, Customer Sales Advisor, and Internal Sales Support.Develop a good working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other business tools.Medium-term (Next six to twelve months):Develop energy-related technical skills.Enhance consultative selling skills.Complete Academy Modules (Belts): Yellow belt.Long-term (Twelve months plus):Proactively develop new business leads and opportunities, building strong customer relationships.Achieve expertise in forecasting, planning, and detailed product and application knowledge.Complete all elements of the academy learning curriculum from Orange to Purple Belt.Potential Recruitment Road:Internal advancement to Field-based Sales Engineer or Sales Specialist roles.This role presents an excellent opportunity for growth within our organization as we strive to become a global leader in industrial sustainability.
