Operations Director - Fashion & Retail - Canada

My client is a leading lifestyle brand with its Canadian HQ in Montreal, Quebec.*** please note you will be based in Montreal *** This role will not exceed $160,000 CDN basic salary This is a newly created roleYou must have previous experience in the distribution of physical products and specifically they must be from fashion, apparel, footwear or another lifestyle brandYou must understand retail - especially with stores all over CanadaYou must understand warehousing, shipping and logistics for a retail businessYou must know how to run a warehouse and lead the teamsWholesale knowledge would be very usefulAs would ecommerceA need to speak French - if you are not bi-lingual, assistance with this will be provided. But you must be willing to take classes to learn (all paid for by the company)You will need to have previously, or currently, managed a warehouse with at least 2 shifts - with 45+ staff, within retail / wholesale / ecommerceTHE ROLEHands on, getting stuff done themselves and truly rolling up your sleeves to deliver. Not coming from a bigger business with multiple layers of teams and support and infrastructure under them. Rather, this person needs to be the builder of all this vs. inheriting a full formed, established structure that runs itself.It's a new role, and making it your own role, and bringing new ideas to the table. This person should also be motivated by, and inspired to, develop and create this newly created role.Helping deliver the new ERP system and roll-out.Brining ideas to the table around new technologies to use and leverage within the wider supply chain.Running all the Warehouse (currently there is about 40 people, lots of whom are temps), but getting this number up to 60Being a world class team player and builder of teams - and helping to move the culture forward and driving the process to unify everyone under one roof and do away with the old methods of operating in silos.Retail is a must, and wholesale experience would also be good. There are 20+ retail locations, and this number is growing, and they have a have a fully integrated omni-channel offering - therefore bringing an understanding into this world is key and you are looking to continue to drive and evolve forward within this space as well.Innovation is essential.They must be based on site, and bi-lingual.
