The position is located in Mississauga, Ontario.Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position is part of the Payroll Specialists team and processes payroll within strict deadlines, in accordance with Federal, Provincial, Union agreements and Company regulations and policies. Key Accountabilities:employee personnel and payroll records in the HRIS system, Payroll system in place is UKG, Kronos and personnel files, ensuring all information is current, accurate and compliant with all company policies and proceduresall aspects of a high-volume multi-provincial payroll efficiently and accurately, while adhering to strict schedules and deadlinesall aspects of the Union agreements are adhered to as it pertains to payroll, including scheduled increasesMastery skills in Ms. Excel electronic ROEs in accordance with Service Canada requirementsand coordinates payroll-related activities for selective Company benefits e.g. Company Car taxable benefits, Stock Options, gift cards.with the regional human resources teams and managersand understanding of Company general ledger accounting structure in JD Edwards system to facilitate processing of journal entriesfor preparing and requesting payments to meet company and government obligationsfirst-class customer service to all employees and other stake holders as it relates to payrolland reconcile payroll related general ledger accountstesting as needed to ensure HRIS and Payroll system is compliant with Company, Federal and Provincial regulationspayroll reportsfor resolving payroll related problemswith year-end processing in all activitiesfor continuous improvement opportunitiesas back-up for other payrolls/team membersduties as assignedQualifications:PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification from the CPA or working towards certification3 - 5 years of strong Payroll knowledge and experience in a high-volume payroll function (multi-provincial and unionized environment considered an asset)Experience with in-house payroll/HRIS system (Ultipro and SAP experience would be considered an asset)Basic accounting experience (preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts)Proficient in Excel, Word and OutlookExcellent written and verbal communication (asset: French)Able to make decisions on your own and work independently(as well as with a team) with minimal supervisionExcellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detailStrong customer service skillsAbility to prioritize multiple tasks with tight deadlines and flexible in changing priorities and assignmentsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment is requiredAccurate data entry Oil and Gas
