Job Description

Coordinates efficiency section activities and allocates responsibilities accordingly. Monitors and investigates plant performance to ensure that the plant and equipment within the station is operated at its maximum efficiency and within design specifications. Produces statistical reports and summaries of power station performance including deviations from capability plans to identify any aspects of plant operation, which need to be addressed, rectified, or improved. Trains staff in operational efficiency monitoring activities. Uses product specifications to design test procedures and standards. Plans and coordinates testing and inspection of products and processes, then implements and monitors the effectiveness of corrective actions and/or continuous improvement initiative. Initiates and coordinates efficiency tests to identify process problems. Analyses specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions. Undertakes periodical physical inspections on the running plant and alerts on anomalies, which may impact on the performance and availability of the plant. Analyses efficiency test results and recommends changes to the operating procedures/regimes for improved plant performance.  Provides advice on designing new processes and systems to achieve professional standards and desired outcomes. Advises and makes recommendations to the operations and maintenance departments on any changes to operational procedures or plant modifications which may be required to improve plant efficiency. Explores issues and/or needs to establish potential causes, related issues, and barriers. Delivers prescribed outcomes by working as directed within established data management systems and procedures. Helps senior colleagues manage internal client and customer relationships by using sales/client systems and protocols. Takes responsibility for delivering a prescribed budget for own area of the organization and/or conducts complex analyses on budget progress in other areas while working within established systems. Identifies shortcomings and suggests improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager. Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems. Provides input into the development of procedures for an area within the organization, then monitors the implementation of those procedures. Delivers own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established program management plan. Delivers own prescribed outcomes and/or provides support services by using the organization's safety, health and environment systems and protocols.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Power Engineering
  • 3 – 5 years of experiences in the relevant qualifications 
  • Vibration Analyst Certification essential, ISO 18436, VCAT Level 2 or 3 highly regarded.
  • Additional Condition monitoring technique certifications highly regarded.
  • Proficient in analyzing and resolving complex datasets.
  • Maintenance Process Knowledge
  • ERP System SAP
  • Extensive knowledge on the operation of the power plant and its auxiliaries.
  • Extensive knowledge on theoretical calculations of the Gearbox, Motors, compressors and auxiliary efficiencies
